• <H3> Hello and thanks for checking out my website! My name is Carly Piatocha and I decided to start Urban Dog Adventures based on my passion for working with, for and around all things dog!
• <H3> I can’t remember a time that I have not loved dogs. Ever since I was a child animals have filled every aspect of my life whether it is work or play and one of the greatest things in the world is feeling like my career in the pet industry is my passion – I get to hang out with fun loving, adorable dogs all day! I have done both professional and volunteer work with animals of all kinds, but mainly with dogs, for over ten years. Some of my past jobs have included working at a dog boarding kennel, a veterinary clinic, a dog daycare, and a few different holistic natural pet stores, one of these being my current place of employment.

• <H3> In addition to those jobs I also volunteered for three years at the former Surrey SPCA as a dog walker and dog foster parent and was also a foster parent for VOKRA (Vancouver Orphaned Kitten Society) until I became the full time best friend of a Pit Bull cross rescue, Tika, who likes cats a little TOO much! I also write the occasional article for Pet Connection, a local magazine that is circulated in and around Vancouver BC, the beautiful place that I call home.
• <H3> I know that the majority of dog owners love their dogs as a valued family member and take excellent care of them but despite that, life can get busy and people have to juggle many things. The point of this blog is to share what I know about dogs regarding their nutrition and health needs in order to improve the health of well being of people’s furry family members. I want to offer an insiders perspective on various different dog food brands, discuss the option of feeding a raw diet, and share my own homemade dog treat recipes. Although food and nutrition is my professional strength and area of expertise, I also want to share tips I’ve picked up on my journey through the pet industry on training, ideas of fun things to do with your dog, product reviews, the importance of both mental and physical exercise and more.Of course, as per a typical proud dog mom, expect plenty of personal recounts of my own pets heartwarming, hilarious and often humbling romps through life with me in the city sprinkled throughout!
• <H3>  It is my main goal and my heartfelt desire to improve the lives of all the dogs I work with. I love feeling that I contribute a great deal to the health, longevity and overall well being of the dogs and owners I help in various capacities throughout my life. At the end of the day being successful and living a life of integrity and purpose means educating as many pet parents as I can so they can give their dogs the best possible care!
• <H3> At the end of the day I love my job because I love dogs so much for their ability to learn our languages, work for us, love us unconditionally, and bring us so much joy; it makes them such fun and complex animals that will never cease to amaze me.
